A southern Jew? Not dressed in black and no curls coming out from under his black hat? How in the world shall we keep our stereotypical view of these people if we are exposed to their real beliefs, as opposed to our preconceived ideas? Well, sit back in the luxurious back seat of a mammoth, gas guzzling, classic, yellow Cadillac Coupe de Ville convertible. Let the aromatic Southern air blow through your hair. Take in the rich histories of the land of Gentlemen. See, smell, hear, taste, and touch of this beautiful land of ours as this author vividly paints picture after wonderful picture that embody "The South". The answer to your questions are about to be answered. Lifetime friends Jake Isaacson, rabbi, Southerner and Troy (Doc) Nolan Jr., retired banker, Southerner set off, in the big Caddy, on a journey hopscotching across the Mississippi and on into the Southwest, at the insistence of Doc's wife, to give life a second whirl. Conversation along the way enlightens not only Doc, a Christian, but the reader as well, with a new understanding of Jewish belief. The author allows us to learn a great deal while keeping it wrapped in a tale of the every day life these two and their wives. What's a novel without intrigue, scandal, a little romance, and fun? This has it all. This is just the beginning. Now that Doc, Jake, Patsy Ruth, and Leah have become part of our lives the journey of understanding is to be continued. We are not told when. We are just left in an intrigue with the words "End of Volume One". Hurry up authors I'm waiting!

Book Description

There were times during the transcribing of this work, that I could actually feel the wind blow through my own hair as our heroes sped down the byways of the Deep South. Like the banker I could simply close my eyes and be lifted like a cartoon character on the wafts of lilacs, and honeysuckle. I could feel the sticky air along the mighty River, and even hear the echo of cannons roar in the background. But more importantly, I hope that in just a little way, some of the customs and concepts held high in traditional Judaism will become easier to understand and comprehend, by the non-Jewish reader.

It is our hope and outline to use this series of books to present religious activities across America in its day-to-day setting. Real people walk the aisles along with our fictional characters. It is also to the best of my knowledge the first attempt ever made to put in a modern American setting many of the concepts modern religion calls Jewish ‘apocryphal’. We hope to present what one of my Christian friends jokingly labels, as Hal Lindsey meeting Elijah in the Delta.

This series will give you a new appreciation of America and each other. That is my prayer. Shalom.
